Can Air Pollution Cause Acne?
According to Anne Marie Fine, a dermatologist at Grist, small, poisonous particles scattered in the air can interfere with the health of your skin.
Existing compounds in pollution are the main cause of this still. Pollution outside the room contains a mixture of chemicals and gases that come from the atmosphere and man-made machine waste.
Inside there can be compounds similar to nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Both of these chemicals are believed to damage your skin when exposed to too much, such as skin irritation.
In 2017 a study was conducted to find out whether there is a relationship between pollution and acne. Researchers are trying to prove that this dangerous pollutant can produce oxidation and inflammation.
The results were not very convincing. However, in the study it was seen that both chemicals from pollution can stimulate the growth of acne even though very little.
In addition, the supporting factors that cause pollution can cause acne are too often being exposed to the sun's UV rays. Exposure to UV light can also reduce antioxidants on the face, such as vitamin E which is useful for preventing inflammation that causes acne.
Pollution can indeed cause acne. Compounds that are in the polluted air and sun exposure is the cause.
Although there is a relationship between pollution and acne, more research is needed to prove this.
